A Christmas Miracle

Guess who I found?  I had decided to get the kids a cat now that the coyotes seem to be gone.  I thought that we should get a kitten for the cuteness factor.  Plus who knows what kind of bad habits that older cats are going to come with.

The girls and I went in to the shelter by my house to look at the kittens, then just for fun, we went to look at the big cats too.

That's when I saw him.  I looked.  And looked.  And looked some more.  I thought, there's no way, after a year that it can actually be my cat.  But something just told me he was.

So I paid to adopt my very own missing for a whole year cat.

How many 20 pound russian blue long haired cats are there in my neck of the woods?  I asked the ladies who work there about him and they said that another shelter took him in a year ago because someone found him wandering.  They kept him for a year, but since no one adopted him, they were going to euthanize him.

So our shelter took him in.  Just 24 hours before I walked in the doors.  And now that he's home, I'm 100%, most definite, beyond a doubt, sure that he is my cat.

see.....

Now that he's home (again) he still sleeps in the same place and ignores my dogs with a haughty indifference.  And yes, he still lays on children.

And he's microchipped.
