It's official. I'm over the hill.

I remember when 40 sounded so old.  Who am I kidding, 40 sounded old three days ago.  I think I look pretty good for 40, don't you?

Ha. ha.  I'm just joking.

I'm not that skinny.

I have been thinking about how I'm going to try to make my 40's a better decade than my 30's.  In my thirties, I got divorced and got cancer.

But they weren't all bad, I also got re-married.  To a real man, who even at his worst, is a better man that the one before.  I also had most of my babies.  As a matter of fact, every baby I had in my 30's, I thought was my last.  Then I just kept having babies.  I also got two new kids, who came without all the labor pains.  They are my children just as much as the ones I gave birth to.  And they are trying to make up for the lack of labor pains by being gigantic pain in the asses at the moment.  During my thirties, I managed to be a stay at home mommy to my kids, while dabbling in real estate from time to time.  During my thirties I also managed to meet my best friends and partners in crime.  Even though we don't get to be in the same zip code often, I know that I can count on them.

Now that I'm 40, I'm looking forward to a few things.  I'm looking forward to not having any more babies, but possibly getting a few grand babies.  (late 40's, pleaseandthankyou) I'm looking forward to getting my sister back.  She lived overseas for all of my 30's, so it's going to be great to have her home.  I'm looking forward to figuring out what I want to be when I grow up.  I'm doing some soul searching to figure out what my future holds, career wise. The stay at home mom gig doesn't pay real well.  I'm looking forward to getting my health back.  I'm going to revisit the don'tdiefromthecancer plan.  It's going to include exercise and some serious dietary upgrades.  Most of all, I'm just looking forward to my 40's.  Having cancer has made me realize that I need to appreciate every single day.
