I only thought football season was over.
Then our boys made the playoffs.
Crap.
Tonight is our first playoff game, if we win this one (when we win), we will play at a college campus the day after Thanksgiving. And yes, the coach expects our boys to practice every day next week. Thank goodness we didn't have plans to go out of town for Thanksgiving.
My freshman is done with his season because only the Varsity advances to playoffs. He went out with a big bang though. On his last game, he broke some poor kid. Snapped his ankle in two. When he got off the pile, he looked down and the kid's foot was facing the wrong direction. It wasn't Dynomite's fault. It was just a freak accident that sometimes happens when you play a violent sport.
My sophomore gets to play his first varsity game because he got moved up. Our school is very new and only been open for four and a half years. Our very first football game was played at the stadium we are going to tonight.
And we won.
It's a good omen.
Texans take our high school football very seriously.

Congrats to you guys! Although, I know you are ready for a break. We just got finished with football and girl's basketball season. Thank goodness.
How exciting! I love how Texans treat football like a religion. It's so awesome to see all the great things that come from communities sharing an excitement for something- especially when it involves the kids. :)
