Can’t get enough pumpkin spice?  Well, then this is the trail mix recipe for you.  My youngest is a pumpkin spice aholic.  And because she is ten and can’t drink coffee yet, we have to find other pumpkin spice recipes.  Not that there is any shortage.  We made this one because it will be a great portable snack for when we are travelling to her older brother’s college football games.  Falcons Up!

We recently discovered Pumpkin Spice Cheerios and we knew we had to use them to make a trail mix.  We wanted a little sweet, a little salty, and a whole lot of pumpkin spice.


We decided to add some pretzels and some walnuts for the salty part.  If you aren’t a walnut fan, you could go with almost any nut.  We considered pecans.  But our pecan trees haven’t started dropping pecans yet this season, so we bought some already shelled walnuts.  If you are an almond fan, those would go well also.  For the sweet, we added some of the caramel M&Ms.  Because, yum.  That’s it.  Just dump and mix.

We used two cups of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios, one cup of mini pretzels, 3/4 cup of shelled walnuts and two bags of caramel M&Ms.

My very visual ten year old said, “Mom, it looks really brown.”  Yes, child, it is brown.  If you were eating you couldn’t keep criticizing my recipes.


Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix

Just dump it all together in a bowl.  Seriously.

  • 2 cups Pumpkin Spice Cheerios
  • 1 cup Mini Pretzels
  • 3/4 cup Walnuts or other nuts
  • 2 bags Caramel M&Ms


  1. Dump.  Stir.  Eat.
